Approximately 1,100 metres high with a 27km circumference, Mount Uhud is most known as the site of the Battle of Uhud (624 CE). The Prophet Muhammad ο·Ί was wounded during the battle, and many of his companions were killed. This iconic mountain still stands in all its glory β visitors can hike up and stand on the very grounds where early Muslims fought.
Hamza (RA) was buried in the same grave as his nephew Abdullah ibn Jahsh. The Prophet ο·Ί later said, "I saw the angels washing Hamza because he was in Paradise on that day." Fatima (RA) used to visit and tend his grave. The site is divided into the Uhud Martyrs enclave and Sayed al Shohada Mosque.
